ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER - WASTE WATER

The Rhode Island site of major manufacturer has an immediate need for an career ambitious, highly ethical and skilled Environmental Engineer.Under the direction of the Manager of Environmental Health and Safety, the Environmental Engineer is responsible for environmental compliance and ISO 14001 responsibilities at TPA’s Rhode Island locations. This individual is directly responsible for the development, implementation and on-going analysis of programs designed to enhance air and water quality, compliance issues, manage hazardous waste, and react effectively to spills and releases into the environment. The qualified candidate will also manage the wastewater pretreatment plant providing guidance and direction to technicians. In addition, they will also act as a liaison to environmental agencies preparing and submitting required reports, responding to inquiries, and represents company before various regulatory agencies. This position also ensures that all required permits are obtained and remain current to include: preconstruction, storm water, wastewater, and RIPEDS direct discharge. Manages the waste reduction program and reviews and assists in process and equipment changes assessing the environmental impact of change. Prepares and presents detailed reports and analysis to senior management at periodic meetings.

REQUIREMENTS
Required:

BS Engineering or Environmental Science Minimum of 5 years experience in environmental engineering in an process industrial facility, perferably chemical manufacturing related. Emphasis of experience must be in air and water environmental compliance.
Knowledge of current Federal and State regulations dealing with air, water, waste and releases Demonstrated ISO 14001-compliance experience required Strong communications skills to include oral, written and presentation Must be Citizen of USA, or Permanent Resident
