Fully experienced professional working on problems of complex scope. This position provides highly advanced and technical solutions and customer service support that ensures the EF&I organization achieves revenue and profit objectives. Responsible for quote preparation and detailed/application engineering of often highly technical and complex telecommunication systems and projects with broad scopes, high impact and intermediate to long implementation timeframes. Applications solutions consist of a broad range of engineering concepts, and pre and post sales project management functions in telephony, data/voice transmission, cable, video, FTTx, and network technologies. Provides customized detail engineering and installation specifications to meet customer requirements involving development of customized solutions dealing with OSP cabinets, EDLC, and Central Office. Requires a specialized depth of telephony knowledge and uses wide application of engineering principles, theories and concepts. The Engineer Is considered a SME within the department while acting as project engineer.

Required


Bachelor's/Associates degree in engineering/technical area (or equivalent work experience)


5 years telecommunications experience or related work experience with at least 4 years in an engineering or technical position.


Advanced knowledge of transmission, Central office, and remote equipment (i.e. Sonet, Digital Loop Carrier, Cable rack layout and DC power)

Strong knowledge of OSP cabinets and ability to design customized soulutions


Effective customer focus, analytical, presentation, and organizational skills


Strong PC skills


Prior installation, manufacturing, engineering or operations experience as it relates to an Operating Telephone or CLEC company network.


Effective project management skills in Engineering & Installation



Preferred:


Exposure to sales environment


Negotiation skills


Outside Plant Engineering skills
