Driver/Field Survey Technician

IMS Infrastructure Management Services currently has an opening for a Driver/Field Survey Technician in the pavement testing industry. IMS is a growing pavement management engineering firm with offices located in Rolling Meadows, IL (Northwest suburb of Chicago), Chandler, Arizona, and Ontario, Canada.
As Driver/Field Survey Technician, you will be exposed to many aspects of the pavement testing business. The Driver of the testing vehicle is responsible for the daily maintenance and visual inspection of the vehicle, the power generation, and the equipment setup. General duties include: checking the fluids and lights of the vehicle; noting any problems with handling, brakes or the operation of the vehicle; making sure all outboard equipment is secure; verify the operation of the generator; have the vehicle and generator maintained as needed; and learn how to visually rate the distresses of the road surface. The Driver who operates the testing vehicle must be a skilled, accomplished driver, able to negotiate sometimes tight and tricky situations, while moving with the flow of traffic. The Driver will assist with field survey duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Since the RST vehicle travels throughout the United States and Canada, all field crew employees are required to travel for up to three months at a time. Days off depends on the schedule. This is a 100% travel position. The crew lives on the road and stay in hotels paid for by the company. Each person on the crew has their own room and a daily allowance for meals, etc. The crew typically works 40-70 hours per week, depending on the weather and workload. (The equipment can not operate in the dark, rain or snow.)
No past experience is needed. However, computer experience and mechanical/electrical skills are helpful.
All field crew employees are required to pass a drug test, have an excellent driving record with no excessive violations.
The successful person must have the ability to work well with others and be detail oriented.
