Responsibilities include installation, configuration, maintenance, and on-going support of Intel based hardware, and Windows based operating system environments for the non-production CHF server environment. Must possess strong process, and documentation skills. After hours and on-call support required for this position.



Install, configure and maintain Windows 2000, and 2003 Operating Systems





Install, configure and maintain Microsoft Cluster environments





Troubleshoot and provide technical analysis concerning operating system, network, and application performance issues to resolution





Troubleshoot and repair server hardware components to resolution





Maintain operating system and application software patch levels on all servers





Perform/Verify daily tape backups and maintain tape backup environment





Create detailed technical documentation relating to operating system, application build, server build, performance, and stability recommendations





Provide timely and effective communication on technical matters





















REQUIREMENTS




Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems





Advanced knowledge of Intel based hardware installation and debug. Knowledge of HP, IBM, and Dell server hardware a plus.





  Intermediate to advanced knowledge of network switching and routing topology





Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory





Intermediate knowledge of SAN Storage Devices and Switched Topology





Intermediate knowledge of the following 3rd party application software desirable

o WebSphere MQ





o Netegrity Siteminder





o Java





o Apache





o IIS
