COMSYS is currently seeking Network/System recovery Engineers for a client located in Philadelphia, PA. This is a direct hire permanent position. The shift is Sunday-Thursday (11:30pm-8am).
Job Description:
SHIFT (SUNDAY-THURSDAY: 11:30pm-8:30am)
Provide high-level technical support & problem determination/resolution.
Interface directly with customer. Provide operational support during tests and disasters.
Review test plan documentation. Setup required system resources.
Review subscriber's test history. Anticipate issues and prevent recurrence
Create and maintain online status reports.
Conduct pre-test and test assistance activities as required.
Assist with equipment installation/relocation.
Participate in customer conference calls and workshops.
Assist in training and mentoring the RS I.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
BS degree or equivalent work experience required.
AIX Certification highly preferred also considering candidates with 3-5 years of strong experience.
Mininum 4 years operational experience in an IBM RS6000 environment.
Strong knowledge RS/6000 server hardware and peripherals.
Strong knowledge of AIX administration and troubleshooting.
2 years working in a LAN or UNIX environment.
3-year experience in a role involving direct customer contact (internal and external customers).
Knowledge of backup-restore methodologies, exposure to large-scale hardware configurations is a plus.
Previous experience in a DR role a plus.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to work off shift and weekends.
Must be self-motivated, team player, and able to immediately contribute to a fast paced, deadline intensive environment.
Proficient in Windows based applications (i.e., Excel, Word, Visio, etc).
