Director Of Engineering
The primary responsibilities of this position are to develop, lead, and manage procedures, policies, goals and objectives based on organizational needs, in the areas of daily operations and long- and short-term planning for Engineering & Maintenance, Biomedical, Construction Management, and Safety. Advises Senior Management members on issues or projects as assigned, and provides operational and financial interpretation, analysis, and recommendations. Directly and/or through subordinate leaders, leads and manages personnel, prepares and monitors operating and capital budgets, quality assurance, staffing levels, and goal and objective attainment. Oversees regulatory compliance measures and accreditation.
Manages, directs and coordinates plant operations, construction, environmental services, and safety management to provide the highest levels of customer service and efficient utilization of available resources. Develops strategies to improve customer service. Directs the achievement of accreditation requirements and compliance with all regulatory agencies. Directs quality assurance processes and leads quality improvement initiatives. Responsible for hospital safety programs, develops and instructs classes on special equipment and systems and responsible for ongoing safety education within departments.
REQUIREMENTS
Work requires successful completion of Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field. Master’s preferred and five years of management or supervisory experience in engineering & maintenance, construction management, and safety. Previous experience in a healthcare management or administrative position that emphasized planning and directing the work activities of large, complex areas, developing and monitoring budgets, developing goals and objectives, and supervising a large diverse group of employees. Experience using strong leadership abilities and effectiveness in developing and implementing organizational service concepts. Financial management and budget administration experience and experience using interpersonal skills to interact effectively with multiple parties in complex situations.
Knowledge and experience relative to accrediting agency standards, and federal, state, and local regulations. Construction & renovation and space planning project management experience. Works collaboratively with multiple departments and physician groups to elicit input, coordinates information flow through a variety of sources; delegates assignments to inside and outside sources; oversees and monitors project steps and timelines; prepares financial analysis; evaluates results, and prepares recommendations.
