Company: Climax Molybdenum Job Function: Engineering And Architectural Job Description: Major Responsibilities Reporting the vice president of global operations, the Director of Environmental Services for Climax Molybdenum Co will be responsible for the monitoring and compliance with all applicable standards at all sites. The director will represent the company through trade associations (IMOA), governmental action groups/committees, and other appropriate groups. The Director will work closely with the site environmental teams in support of the site’s compliance and permitting efforts.Primary Responsibilities include:
1. Oversee all compliance and permitting activities for Climax global operations. Interact with site environmental managers as needed to ensure optimal results. Represent the company on environmental matters in trade associations, government forums, or other groups for which the company is a participant.
2. Performs routine and as needed regulatory reviews in support of site operation’s compliance efforts identifying current or future economic or performance issues related to permitting, current or future compliance, resources, and operations planning.
3. Assess and manage all environmental initiatives in areas affecting Climax operations; e.g. REACH in Europe, and US.
4. Participate in Climax global growth projects (Europe, Asia/China, South America, and others as identified) to ensure environmental compliance and permitting perspectives are considered while providing guidance to the organization on same.Minimum Requirements
BS in appropriate science or engineering field supporting the technical aspects of surface and ground water, air, and reclamation project management; masters degree preferred

Ten years demonstrated relevant experience in environmental project management and a track record of relationship building with regulatory agencies at the state and national levels

Employee and contractor supervisory experience and excellent interpersonal skills

Demonstrated oral and written communications skills

Significant travel required both domestically and internationally

Generally work in an office environment, however significant amount time spent in operating sites reviewing environmental issues (underground mine, processing facilities, and related infrastructures)~cb~
