Digital Systems Engineer /Electrical Engineer

Able to work in a team-oriented environment This position is for a senior electrical engineer position in the GS Test Engineering Department to work on the test solution development for various activities supporting Digital Applications. Candidates for this position must have experience in design of Analog/Digital hardware circuits used in communication systems and have a good understanding of test architectures. Familiarity with Ethernet interface design, communication interface design in RS232, USB II and ARINC 429, PCB design, enclosure design, boundary scan knowledge and design using commercial test equipment is highly desirable. Candidate should have a good understanding of Agilent and Tektronix test equipment used to test RF, analog, and digital designs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to requirements capture/allocation as well as derived requirements creation to meet schedule, design and development, and support of design, build, test, integration, and delivery of test engineering efforts for the tasks assigned. Candidate will also be required to utilize Client's Technical Consistent Process (TCP) and earned value / risk management practices. Design approach reviews, design reviews, product documentation, verification documentation and product test demonstrations are mandatory outputs for the associated tasks Applicant must be self-motivated, capable of performing with limited supervision as a sole and as a team player, ability to work several simultaneous tasks, and possess effective verbal and written communication skills. This job requires a Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent.Introduction / Summary / Background Development/Integration and Factory acceptance of module-level burn-in fixtures and acceptance tests to be used for various products in production. These modules include the DTU7000/7100 as well as the KC-135 PEM. The solution will utilize Client's common test approaches and processes using best practices that have evolved from existing FLIGHT2 ATE and CoRe test stations. Details include testing of USB, Ethernet, Video recording and power supply module testing. LabView skills are secondary skill desired but not mandatory.


Requirements:

Scope of Work The project requires teaming arrangements with Government Systems and Manufacturing Engineers as well as attendance/participation at weekly Project status meetings. Coordination with project engineers on a regular basis as well as obtaining assets for integration upon the completion of the design and build activities that precede integration. Work closely with Software test engineers and product designers to optimize test times and approaches. Support lab technicians in the build and assembly of fixtures and cables. Support Mechanical Engineers and Drafting in the mechanical design and documentation development and release. Prepare and distribute design review documentation and present to review team at designated phases of the project. Work with Production support test engineers in final verification and delivery of test solutions associated with the project. May require interfacing with metrology engineering in the development of calibration test processes.
