Deputy Director Life Safety Code Engineer US

The Deputy Director, Life Safety/Code Inspection Engineer possesses a strong working knowledge and can apply the current Pennsylvania Universal building code. This individual must have a firm understanding of NFPA standards and how they relate to industry/production and construction. Experience with Factory Mutual requirements and specifications.Responsible for the review all new construction planning to interpret and apply codes, meet with local building code officials prior to the start of new construction.
Coordinate Factory Mutual to ensure requirements are included in all designs for new buildings. Assist with reviewing any contractors that will be installing life safety systems.
Inspect new construction during building to insure codes are being met. Take part in all new construction and renovation project life safety expectances testing.
Assist sanofi engineers to review code requirements for all new building renovations and meet with local building code officials.
Review and inspect current building for code issues and design solutions to the issues. Conduct life safety training for personnel in all new buildings and renovated buildings.
Assist the Engineering department with development of corporate standards and guidelines. Write as necessary all evacuation plans for new facilities.We are an equal opportunity employer M/F/D/V
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 7 years of experience in a cGMP regulated manufacturing environment. A minimum of 6 years interpreting building code and life safety standards. Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing. Excellent team player with ability to work independently. Solid understanding of cGMP procedures and sanitary equipment design and operation.Certifications
Fire protection engineer or a certified fire safety specialist (CFSS) or a certified code enforcement officer.
