Database Developer

AQS, Inc. is currently seeking a Database Developer

application development and database development/administration?

We are looking for your expertise to provide and be responsible for the design and implementation of new database support elements for the company’s flagship and ancillary product offerings.
You would also provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and redesign for
databases supporting existing and new products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop programmatic database elements (e.g. stored procedures, UDFs, triggers) in a MS SQL 2000/SQL 2005 environment.
Assist and advise the maintenance and new product development teams in regards to data strategies and the practical application of data solutions.
Assists in application development, debugging, configuration, and optimization from a database perspective.
Performs analysis of business and product requirements and designs/modifies database schemas to meet those requirements.
Develops and implements complex data models and logical database designs.
Responsible for implementing and testing system enhancements to ensure database upgrades are performed accurately and on time.
Create test procedures test scripts and testing applications.
Responsible for database performance and tuning efforts.
Converts logical database specifications into physical design. Creates and maintains data definition language scripts for all database changes. Leads the development of code to maintain data integrity, ETL (Extraction-Transformation-Load) programs and automation of database procedures using DTS, IS, and SQL jobs. Good written and verbal communications, as well as good documentation skills to communication within and across departments effectively.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience:A BS degree in Computer Science is strongly preferred with a Microsoft certification highly desirable. A minimum of 5 year’s database development experience in a production environment. Experience within the Property and Casualty industry a strong plus. Proficiency with database administration utilities and an understanding of data modeling concepts including entity relationship diagrams is desirable.
Extensive prior experience with an enterprise level RDBMS (SQL 2000/SQL 2005) and T-SQL is required.
Experience with VB.NET, Visual Basic 6.0, Windows 2000/2003 Server, and IIS is also a plus.Interested candidates, please send resume to:
