Data Migration Specialist

The job -
This position provides a challenging and exciting opportunity and offers a dynamic team working environment utilizing a variety of skills for tasks within the Federal Government sector. Database Administration and maintenance encompassing operations and maintenance of existing corporate data, including coordination, planning, and control to ensure a stable information systems environment. The required services include the following:
Operate and maintain multiple database instances.
Respond to customer requests in a timely manner.
Recommend appropriate schedules to perform and monitor data backups.
Monitor and review database instances to identify potential maintenance and tuning issues.
Analyze operational maintenance issues and recommend performance enhancements.
Develop and implement plans and schedules for patches, version and release upgrades, and migrations.
Ensure continuity of the operational environment and customer satisfaction.
Perform data migration and management through the use of ETL tools.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications –
The successful candidate should be able to pass background screening prior to employment. The candidate should possess strong oral and written communication, problem solving skills as well as the following:
Bachelor of Science-Computer Information Systems or related degree.
Certified Oracle Database Administrator 8i and above experience.
Experienced in Oracle and Informix database environments.
ETL tool experience required with Power Designer, Evoke, and Informatica.
Standby database knowledge/experience.
PL/SQL programming.
Solaris/Unix OS knowledge.
Familiarity with Unix shell scripting and knowledge of shell utilities including crontab, etc.
Microsoft Windows admin experience.
