Experienced Civil Engineers/Project Managers
Salary Range: $51,960 - $86,218
(Typical Starting Salary: $61,450)

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT)
Phoenix, Arizona

ADOT serves the statewide transportation needs of 6 million Arizona residents, and provides major highway construction and maintenance for Phoenix (the fifth largest city in the U.S) and Tucson, two of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country. Our Valley Project Management group is charged with implementing the Regional Transportation Plan (freeway system) for the Maricopa Association of Governments (for more information see: www.letskeepmoving.com).

We currently have multiple career opportunities within our Valley Project Management group for civil engineers with substantial experience in managing large, complex highway construction projects. Position responsibilities include the management of all aspects of analysis, design and preparation of construction plans, estimates, specifications, engineering studies and reports, and facilitation of reviews of these engineering products. In addition, these positions will assist in conducting public hearings and public information sessions as needed. Accountabilities include all aspects of contract and budget development and monitoring, along with securing ADOT management and State Transportation Board approvals for changes in construction projects.

Successful candidates will possess a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, along with thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering as applied to the design, construction and maintenance of major highway systems. Knowledge of technical areas including scheduling techniques, cost estimation, and project management tools are required. Large scale, complex highway project management experience that incorporates contract and budget development and monitoring, is also essential. These positions require good verbal, written, and public presentation skills, along with demonstrated organization skills and conflict resolution abilities. Candidates must hold current registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Arizona, or show proof of eligibility for P.E. certification reciprocity from another state.

ADOT offers: a professional work environment, competitive salaries, and a generous benefits package that includes paid vacations and sick leave, along with low cost medical, dental and vision insurance.
