DE Threat Engineer
EC III, LLC, a test and evaluation services company, has an immediate opening for a Threat Systems Engineer at the U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground, Yuma, AZ.
Perform threat engineering on an interdisciplinary team of subject matter or professional experts. Perform technical and planning tasks to design, develop, fabricate, emplace, and function threat systems as a component of the modern battlefield for use in test and evaluation of counter-threat systems. Must be knowledgeable and remain current on threat systems currently being encountered, such as improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and roadside bombs. Must be capable of using imagination and innovation to think like an insurgent and employ creative tactics. Other requirements include collection, reduction, and analysis of data necessary to characterize their performance.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a US citizen
Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics (RF preferred), or a related field
Ability to understand circuit schematics and design and breadboard new circuits
Ability to understand component level electronic design
Experience with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, frequency counters, and signal generators
Experience conducting and/or evaluating RF measurements on transmitters, such as power, frequency, and modulation characterization
Experience conducting and/or evaluating RF measurements on receiver systems, such as receiver sensitivity and acceptance bandwidth characterization
Experience conducting and/or evaluating measurements on audio and data circuits
Strong desire and ability to quickly learn local test methodologies and goals
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to work in a high-energy, team-oriented, rapidly changing environment
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance within one year of hire
Ability to work long hours for extended periods of time, often with short notice
Ability to work in severe outdoor weather conditions
Strong customer satisfaction skills
Strong inter-personal skills with the ability to interface with people of varying backgrounds and education levels
Desired Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering
Current DoD security clearance at the Secret or Top Secret level
Ability to layout printed circuit boards
Experience working with DoD test agencies
Experience with MatLab
Operational experience with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)
Operational experience with current IED detection and neutralization systems
Knowledge of spectrum management
