DCS Controls Engineer

GE is seeking controls engineers to design, configure, and test plant wide Distributed Control Systems for power plants including Combined Cycle, Fossil Fuel Boilers, Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) and Nuclear.Essential Functions
Define and order hardware from system specification.
Develop software from control logic diagrams and/or functional descriptions for GE Mark VI/VIe platforms.
Develop HMI screens from P&ID drawings.
Interface with turbine control teams to ensure complete system integration.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests with customers.
Support controls commissioning as required. Typically via e-mail and telephone, but could require site visits.
Automation of control system hardware and software development.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications
BS degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical or nuclear).
Knowledge of control concepts as applied to the power generation industry related to the Balance or Plant, Boiler Combustion, and/or Burner Management Systems.GB Certified (GE Employees Only.)Eligibility Requirements

Role may be offered at lower or higher band commensurate with experience.
Must be able to start immediately upon hire.Desired: Desired Characteristics
2 years Experience in the implementation of Distributed Control Systems including Ovation, Foxboro, Bailey, or Yokogawa.
Operations knowledge in Combined Cycle, Coal fired, IGCC, and/or Nuclear power plant (BWR's).
Advanced Power Plant design experience.
Technically proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel and Access.Work Traits
