3 Corporate Quality Managers Michigan & California & Texas 60 – 90K Plan, direct and coordinate quality assurance program to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Conducts studies to determine cause, effect and corrective measures required to remedy the deviation in quality standards. Implements consistent ongoing training on continuous improvement basis, revisions and implement processes related to the quality of the product. POSITION: Corporate Quality Manager REPORTS TO: Managing Director Product Development/Program Management BASIC: Develop and implement a quality management strategy that meets the customers’ CTQ (critical to quality) expectations and aligns with the BCG (Builder Cabinet Group) strategy. FUNCTION: Responsible for resources, timescales, financials and evaluations, to support and contribute to the quality management strategy. PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1)Understand the voice-of-the-customer and communicate their expectations to the BCG organization (product and service areas). 2)Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to service and products as defined by Customer CTQs. 3)Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards. 4)Implement third party auditing for corporate and plant processes and procedures. 5)Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to the agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels. 6)Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments. 7)Report as necessary changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against these standards. 8)Manage departmental performance against MBP (management by plan) measures. 9)Assist planning of product introductions and obsolescence (FMEAs, Kaizens, pilot runs, standard limits). 10)Develop and implement Supplier Quality Assurance. 11)Liaise with quality management and standards bodies (i.e. KCMA, EPA, NAHB, HUD, etc). 12)Contribute to executive policy and strategy.

Must have Wood Products Manufacturing background!
This must be a change-agent type person who can sift through the plant level muddle of resistant employees. They must have structure/style/self-discipline. Will conduct hard audits (QSO9000 type) at the plant level. Must be a true and consistent quality-minded person who can hold people accountable. Must be a self-starter and one who is tenacious on details – thinks outside of the box. Must be change-driven – not just focused on product, but the customer service end of the process. Will write a Corporate Quality Manual. MUST come from the wood industry. Most pressing quality issues are not with the product itself. They want to expand it to the “voice of the customer”. In other words – expand quality to the products offered (the selection), difficulty in placing orders, and getting extra parts, etc. The company who can tap into the “service related” side of the cabinet industry will be #1. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Essential Qualifications and Skills: ¨Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. ¨A minimum of 10 years experience in Quality management experience in the manufacturing environment. ¨MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) and MS Projects experience ¨Must be a “hands on” person comfortable in the role of development and implementation of new and improved processes to the plant floor ¨Passion for customers, continuous improvement and change. ¨Demonstrated success in leading cultural change at the functional and company level strongly preferred. ¨Exceptional demonstrated interpersonal and relationship management skills required. ¨Demonstrated ability in managing people and issues in a multi-site organization. ¨Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. ¨ASQ CQE, CQM, or CRE certification preferred. Preferred Qualifications and Skills ¨Woodworking, cabinet manufacturing experience. ¨Lean Experience (Kaizen Process, Six Sigma, 5S, Standardized Work, Value Stream Mapping) CORPORATE QUALITY ENGINEER PROFILE: ¨Must be comfortable working in an office and heavy industrial environment
