Controls Manufacturing Sr Project Engineer

Then this may be the opportunity you've been waiting for!Looking for a Senior Project Engineer within the Controls Manufacturing Division.Individual will be responsible for all aspects of new product development involving conceptualization, design/development, production implementation and product support in a cross-functional team environment.Responsibilities also include project planning and high-level systems design. Candidate will be a strong project leader and is expected to provide technical leadership.Product development activities include feasibility determination, product specifications, testing and evaluation, circuit design and prototyping, developing control firmware, interfacing hardware and firmware, and developing appropriate documentation.


Requirements:

7+ years experience in new product development, including engineering design of complete electronic products with embedded microprocessors.Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of design and electronics engineering concepts.Firmware development experience for 8-bit microprocessors using C and assembly language.Experience with board level circuit design using off-the-shelf components.Experience designing digital and analog circuits to overcome electrically noisy environments.Experience with inter-board communication using serial, I2C, SPI or similar methods.Prior experience using embedded processors such as Atmel AVR, Microchip PIC, 8051, and similar 8-bit processors.Experience in use of advanced development tools: PADS, OrCAD, C compilers, ICE, logic analyzers, etc.Prior experience implementing communication protocols in low-cost microcontrollers including creating proprietary protocols.Excellent communication skills.High energy with an enthusiastic attitude, desire for continued learning, and a willingness to take on difficult technical challenges.Prior experience with Design for Manufacturability, and Design for Testability.Experience showing increasing level of responsibility in design project management, with at least two designs managed from conception through production release.Experience in design verification and validation, including design reviews, change control, HALT, field testing, circuit modeling, etc.Experience in product agency certification for FCC, UL, CSA, CE, etc.BS in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering or other technical degree.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: MSEE or other advanced degree in a related area. Experience in supervising outsourced development and sub-contractors. Experience in design and development of cost-effective wireless communication links between electronic devices. Knowledge of communications methods and techniques including wireless, mesh networks, Ethernet, USB, RS-485, Telco-modems, FSK, Manchester, etc. Experience with electrical surge and EMI issues. Experience with the irrigation industry would be an asset.
