Controls Development Engineer Gas Turbine

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, EnergyFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: Job Purpose
Participate on team responsible for design and verification of new control systems for advanced gas turbine designsEssential Functions
Participate in controls system operability studies including dynamic analysis, equipment modeling, and failure modes analysis
Design and develop operational strategies for coordinated gas operation and coordination with GT Auxiliaries and BOP
Execute controls and simulation testing for the purpose of controls verification
Develop, document, and verify Controls Design Standards/Practices for gas turbine controls
Support simulated Stage Test, Factory equipment test and field validation for all first article controls
Use Six Sigman (DFSS) methodologies to provide robust advanced technologies controls for a broad range of GE Power Systems Controls applications~HJ~
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: dir>Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Computer Engineering
Minimum 1 year experience with design and/or controls development
Green Belt Certified (GE Employees only)
Eligibility Requirements

You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
If currently a GE employee, you must have been in your current position for at least 12 months and have at least a satisfactory performance rating
Ability to support limited travel for controls verification (less than 10%)Desired: Desired Characteristics
Experience in Field Engineering/Turbine Startup
Masters in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Computer Engineering
Working knowledge of the GE Mark VI control system software, including Control System Toolbox, Cimplicity HMI, TCI, and the EGD communication protocol (GE Employees only)
Familiarity with GE Gas/Steam Turbines, Generators, Combustion and Accessories
Working knowledge of dynamic simulation packages such as Easy5, PC-TRAX or Matlab/Simulink
Controls domain knowledge in Model based/model predictive control or other advance controls strategies
Work Traits
Self-Starter with ability to meet goals and objectives
Comfortable working in a global environment
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
Can-do attitude with a passion to improve the controls technologyGeneral: Controls and Power Electronics COE, a subset of GE Energy Engineering Division, is a cutting edge designer and developer of Controls Systems and Drives and Controls Systems for applications such as Turbine Control, Automation Control, and Plant Control. The Controls COE serves markets such as thermal, wind, oil and gas, hydro and solar energy.
