Construction Engineer Manager 2 - Baton Rouge

Position Summary: This Construction Engineering Manager position requires the ability to perform primarily construction surveying duties which include but are not limited to the following:


1. Perform construction surveying to industry standards and as called for in USACE Engineering Manuals, EM1110-1-1002, -1003, -1004, and -1005.

2. Establish project surveying control by brining in from establish benchmarks.

3. Perform existing and as-built surveys of surfaces and site features.

4. Provide layouts for both earthwork and vertical construction.

5. Perform grade staking and/or oversee and implement Trimble RTK GPS for earthmoving equipment.

6. Interacting with and support site managers, superintendent, and craft in properly sequencing work and accurately obtaining design grades.

7. Establish an orderly survey data system and maintain the data accordingly.

8. Perform basic CAD file and drawing tasks relating to grading plan development.

9. Closely coordinate with CAD operators in producing plans and quantities.

10. Support project staff as requested and continue professional development.


Requirements: Candidates must be an experienced construction surveyor familiar with conventional (i.e., total station) and RTK GPS surveying methods. It is not required, but highly desirable that candidates have a post secondary degree in a technical field relating to mapping, surveying, or CAD.
