Configuration Management Engineer

Purpose: A worldwide government contractor is looking for a Configuration Management Engineer working with the Ground-based Missile Defense (GMD) project for a 3 month contract-to-hire position.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Perform assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for an engineering discipline within a global business unit.

Understand the basic discipline work processes. Performs engineering tasks, within a discipline, having a minor degree of complexity. Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data from suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS:
- MUST have a Bachelors Degree
- MUST be a US Citizen (able to obtain DOD Security Clearance)
- Must be able to develop databases using Access
- Working knowledge of MIL Standards
- Have ability to read drawings and part lists
- Experience preparing associated deliverables
- Demonstrated abilities in prioritizing activities, communicating, and coordinating activities within a complex project

DESIRED:
- Working knowledge of MS Access and Visio
- CMM, CMMI and CM training/certification

The pay scale for this position is $16-$40/hr based on experience.
