Computer System Design Engineer Senior Manager

Standard Job Description:

Manages the design and definition of system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the determination of systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintainance of system security. Directs the coordination of design of subsystems and integration of total system. Insures program support deficiencies are identified, analyzed, and resolved. Insures corrective actions are developed and recommended. May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.
REQUIREMENTS
Typical Minimums:

Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.

Requires technical and management leadership in Systems Engineering, Project and Engineering management, Proposal Development, Systems and Subsystems Architecture. Ensures engineering products and services provided to business area programs are of the highest quality, satisfying cost, schedule, and technical commitments with 100^^% mission success. Supports business area in developing a vision and strategy for the organization and ensuring it's effective communication and translation into operational goals. Supports the identificiation of new business opportunities in traditional and non-traditional market areas. Develops strategic technology plans. Communicates the business area vision and goals to the staff. Provides engineering leadership necessary to proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact the business area ability to achieve mission success. Continuously drives process excellence. Focuses on enhancing program execution by leveraging proven processes, sharing lessons learned, and adopting best practices from other parts of the business or industry. Mentors engineering staff assigned to business area programs to maximize team performance. Develops and maintains succession/development plans for key engineering leadership positions. Cultivates and maintains customer relationships. Provides timely and accurate projections of Engineering resource requirements for the business area (people, processes, tools). Communicates and adjudicates staffing requirements with department managers, program offices, and LOB. Participates in horizontal integration initiatives for USS, MS2, and LM.

Outstanding leadership, DoD Secret Clearance, Extensive SE exper.
