Composites Project Engineer/Program Manager

Albany Engineered Composites is seeking a Composites Project Engineer/Program Manager to work on R&D and production projects. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead engineering activities associated with composite component development programs using advanced textile preforms and aerospace grade fibers/materials.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

-Designing textile preforms (woven and/or braided)
-Performing structural analyses
-Developing and documenting composite structural concepts
-Generating work orders for technicians
-Coordinating engineering activities with customers

The successful applicant is expected to have an engineering degree and at least three years of experience in the composites/textile industry. Key skills for the successful applicant include; good attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, proven problem solving abilities and a willingness to perform ‘hands on’ work.

US citizenship is required.

Special consideration will be given to applicants with experience in the following areas:
-Aerospace structures
-Textile manufacturing processes
-Complex textile preforming
-Use of CAD/CAM software, including finite element analysis (FEA)
-Resin Transfer Molding (RTM)
-High temperature preforms engineering for CMC applications
