Component Engineer

We are seeking a dependable, high energy level and self-motivated individual with a solid knowledge of electronics components to provide production, procurement and customer support of SMT and PTH production areas. In this key position, you would work with purchasing and production to resolve component material or process issues in the manufacturing and procurement processes. This includes reviewing customer documentation (BOM's, lists, schematics, diagrams, sketches, drawings, procedures and notes), supplier documentation and/or data sheets, kit materials, assembly procedures, assembly equipment and setups for manufacturability and alternative sources, as well as interfacing with buyers, suppliers and customers on requirements, substitutions and/or questions. You would provide direct advisory support of purchasing and manufacturing operations, perform debugging, and may also specify or direct rework to correct component conformance deficiencies. You would also determine root causes of problems and initiate corrective action, and identify component and process improvements.
REQUIREMENTS
BS in Electronics, or equivalent, and 3+ years as a Technician, Supervisor or Engineer in the Printed Circuit Board design and/or assembly industry, or in the electronic component supply industry. You must have experience in a wide variety of electronic components, and be able to read blueprints, schematics, BOM's and data sheets. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are critical. Word and Excel skills are also required.
