Compliance Engineering Supervisor

Provide leadership to engineering/technician staff in ensuring conformance of GGS products to technical and quality specifications and agency requirements. Ensure that all technical support performed meets all GGS; quality, performance, safety, reliability and process standards.

- Supervise, mentor and nurture professional engineers and technicians in a team-building environment and provide technical direction as an active contributing member in a cross-functional product team.
- Responsible for employee performance goal setting development through the Grainger performance management system.
- Recruit, hire and train engineers and technicians.
- Ensure that all GGS products meet or exceed customer expectations by assuring conformance to Technical Specifications, QA Sheets, and agency certifications
- Develop product evaluation strategies that provide timely, accurate and detailed technical evaluations of products regarding performance, quality, reliability and safety and present findings to the product team in an understandable and useful manner.
- Working with the QA Manager, establish and maintain a quality assurance system whereby products are inspected at the source factory prior to shipment.
- Resolve product issues by; performing root cause analyses, identifying appropriate resources, providing thorough product testing, and implementing corrective actions
- Develop product evaluation strategies that provide timely, accurate and detailed technical evaluations of new and existing products regarding performance, quality, reliability and safety that can be presented to the team on-time in an understandable and useful manner.


- A Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or similar engineering field is required.
- Proven experience in creating, managing and mentoring a technical staff.
- Demonstrated expertise in the manufacturing, design and application of industrial products.
- Proficient in the use of various hand tools, power tools, computers, electronic meters and conventional lab test equipment.
- Proven skills in analyzing product failures with a proven history of developing and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize and organize projects in a changing environment.
- Ability to procure, read, understand and interpret technical reports, specifications, test data and patents and translate technical info into useful laymen's terms.
- Requires strong communication skills, willingness to work in a dynamic team environment, a healthy attitude and a keen sense of urgency in completing tasks.
- Able to travel 10-15% of time, sometimes overseas.
