Chief Mechanical Design Engineer

Purpose: Our client, who provides consulting services and design/supply sourcing to the mining and mineral processing, coal, aggregate and cement industries, is seeking a Chief Mechanical Design Engineer.

This is a unique opportunity to join a world recognized leader in the design and supply of Mobile ore stacking systems and bulk material handling equipment, including crushing and screening plants, belt conveyors and ore storage system, in the mining, aggregate, coal and cement industries.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the ideal candidate possesses a combination of a degree or diploma in Mechanical engineering/design 10-15 years of experience in the design of heavy civil materials handling equipment preferably in the mining industry. Please highlight your experience in Heavy Mechanical Engineering such as Ship loaders, reclaimers/stackers, coal handling and mining equipment.

Requirements:
-Successful candidates must have experience on large scale heavy Mechanical Design projects.
-Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS software is essential.
-Machine design and hydraulics experience is also required.
-Experience with all facets of mechanical design, including supervision of several design engineers, belt conveyor calculations, mechanical equipment design and selection based of client specifications.
-Quality Control of all designs
-Some domestic and international travel will be required.
-Support for the estimating and operations groups as part of business development and overall project execution.
