Chemical Engineer - Product Engineer

We are looking for a team player that will be responsible for responsible for the design, development, and improvement of new or existing products. This responsibility includes directing the building and testing of prototypes.

Interpersonal and communication skills are critical to the success of this position. It is necessary to communicate with Research & Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, customers and vendors regarding ideas, drawings, designs, materials, specifications, testing and expenses.

Other responsibilities
Update and maintain product information and specifications for existing product lines.
Facilitate the new product development process to include: plans, timetables, designs, testing, costing, literature and approval.
Work with R&D to assure reasonableness of plans and timetables for design, manufacture and performance testing. Advise management of delays, problems or changes.
Work with Quality Assurance and customer’s quality department in experimentation and pilot runs.
Provide technical support covering materials, construction methods and design.
Work with Sales, Manufacturing and R & D to understand customer needs. Establish product specifications and maintain within QAD.
Direct and coordinate preparation of prototypes and new product samples.
Coordinate field-testing of new, existing and competitor’s products.
Evaluate new materials, processes and procedures to enhance and improve existing product lines.
Assist Marketing and Sales in the preparation of catalogs and general advertising literature.
Assist in the preparation and presentation of technical articles and papers to industry groups. Participate in industry-related organizations.

REQUIREMENTS
Advanced degree (MS/MA/PhD) in technical discipline (chemical engineering or chemical engineering related) is required
Must have advanced training/education or work experience in filtration or filtration testing
Must have advanced training/education or work experience in fluid dynamics
Must have advanced training/education or work experience in fluid flow of gases
Must have advanced training/education or work experience in aerosol science
Must have advanced training/education or work experience in gas dynamics
Project management skills with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to make presentations to management and customers and the ability to write concise report findings.
