Calibration Engineer

Purpose: An automotive manufacturer is looking for an experienced Calibration Engineer.

Position Description:
-Plan, perform, and deliver new engine performance calibrations and controls approaches to meet customer/partner requirements.
-Coordinates and participates in development of emissions critical components such as air, fuel system and controls.
-Communicate across a broad spectrum of departments including Advanced, Applications and Stuttgart Engineering departments, end customers/partners, component teams, and manufacturing facilities.
-Plan engine test work including use of model based control software.
-Work with customers/partners in end use applications to develop an understanding of engine performance requirements to verify and also develop application specific knowledge that can be used to improve future calibration efforts.
-Schedules time according to established job priorities.


Knowledge and Skills Required:
-A degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of related work experience in diesel engine controls, performance or emissions.
-Effective oral and written communication skills.
-Familiarity with the use of personal computers and data acquisition systems.
-Basic understanding of drafting nomenclature and conventions.
-Understanding of the combustion principles and operation of internal combustion engines.
-Good interpersonal skills.
