POSITION TITLE: Cable Loop Engineer
SECURITY CLEARANCE/LEVEL REQUIRED: NoPRIMARY FUNCTION(S)Provide support to the FAA Technical Operations, ATC Communications Services Solution Implementation Office on the Cable Loop System. Provide comprehensive support of system development from analysis of mission needs to verification of system performance. Perform evaluation of alternatives and assessment of risks and costs. Provides direct support to the FAA in preparation of Specifications, Statements of Work, acquisition documentation and program Management support as tasked. Responsible for assuring Cable Loop procurement documentation is in accordance with FAA Acquisition Management System requirements. Provide technical assistance in evaluation of vendor proposals in support of a source selection.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Duties include (but are not limited to):(1) Provide Cable Loop system development from analysis of mission needs to verification of system performance.
(2) Perform evaluation of alternatives and assessment of risks and costs
(3) Provides direct support to the FAA in preparation of Specifications, Statements of Work, acquisition documentation and program Management support as tasked
(4) Responsible for assuring Cable Loop procurement documentation is in accordance with FAA Acquisition Management System requirements
(5) Provide technical assistance in evaluation of vendor proposals in support of a source selection.
(6) Competencies or additional desired skills and pluses: Good communication and writing skills, including technical writing, is mandatory. A minimum of 5 years experience with FAA acquisition programs, knowledge of AMS, and EIA IS-632 System Engineering Process is desired. Completion of the FAA Fundamentals of Acquisition Management System course is a plus.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Degree Requirements: Bachelor\'s (EE) degree
Relevant Experience (amount and type): Minimum of ten years experience supporting analysis and design of communications systems. Experience with FAA data and voice communications programs is required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of FAA AMS process is desired. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential since the work requires daily interaction with a divergent team. Must be able to work without close supervision and meet deadlines..
