CNC Programmer

Purpose: Our client specializes in designing portable power supplies and attachments for consumer products such as laptops, notebook computers, mobile phones, and PDAs.

They are in need of a CNC Programmer/Prototype Machinist who will assist the engineering team with developing prototypes of power products from conceptual designs provided by engineers. This position is also responsible for machine shop activities and provides backup for the CNC Programming and Modelmaker.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Design CNC programs from conceptual designs (Programming is done with M-Codes & G-Codes)
-Learn machine setup and perform general shop duties including finishing and painting parts
-Work with 3 Axis CNC machinery
-Will be involved with CNC programming operations that interface with the Engineering Group and the Industrial Design Group

QUALIFICATIONS
-Two or more years machine shop experience
-Computer skills and good aptitude for math
-Ability to use internal mills, table saws, drill presses, sanders, etc.
-Familiarity with standard machine shop equipment, such as mills, lathes, etc.
-Familiarity with machine shop best practices and the ability to perform general maintenance and upkeep of machine shop equipment
-Experience with MASTERCAM or SURFCAM programming
-Knowledge of rapid prototyping
-High school diploma
