The CIM Data Analyst – AC2 is responsible for developing, supporting and maintaining PJM’s Common Information Model (CIM). This position will be accountable for the definition of the CIM maintenance process, the implementation of this process through the AC2 program and for developing and maintaining business relationships that will leverage and support the PJM information technology strategy for AC2.
Required:Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field, or bachelor’s degree in an unrelated discipline and equivalent work experience.
Demonstrated problem solving skills that proactively addresses business needs.
Must have strong analytical skills, as well as the ability to “multi-task.”
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Familiar with CIM.
2 years of technology experience.
Excellent facilitation and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent customer interaction skills.
Experience reading data models.
Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work deliverables with attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team environment.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred:
An Advanced Degree.
Experience working in dynamic highly collaborative working relationships, requiring close consultation, management, and coordination.
Prior work experience with CIM.
Prior work experience with data modeling.
Knowledge of PJM's business.
Experience in an environment related to PJM's core business functions.
Familiarity with ClearCase, PowerDesigner, MS VISIO, and Rational Rose.
Familiarity with and understanding of Oracle databases.
Familiarity with and understanding of Unix and Windows operating systems.
Familiarity with and understanding with SQL/PLSQL.
Familiarity with and understanding of SQL Tools: SQL Navigator, TOAD, SQL*Plus.Essential Skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Proficiency in data modeling with a desire to focus on scientific applications.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of XML technologies, and a working knowledge of ontologies and ontology standards like RDF.
Programming experience in JAVA and similar languages. Knowledge of Windows and Linux, as working environments. Experience with at least one major DBMS is required.
Entry level experience in conceptual modeling, formal data modeling, schema design, ontology management and some background and understanding in areas mentioned above
Utilize PJM and industry knowledge to participate in design, development and implementation of EMS/MMS system development, integration and implementation
Assist with CIM Data Model Version Control and Change Management
Maintain Master Data List and Subject Matter Expert List
Support development and maintenance of master definitions
Actively participate in group discussions to drive consensus on data relationships
Document data attributes and extensions to the base CIM model
Maintain currency in CIM industry directions
Knowledgeable of CIM resources.
Maintain existing relationships with PJM Community and develop new business relationships with key PJM personnel to build consensus and leverage the PJM business vision and strategy.
Be a primary source of applied knowledge and insight into AC2 project at and act as liaison between AC2 and the PJM Community
Provides a high-level of analytical analysis and act as a problem solver, proactively addressing business needs and reliability requirements with innovative, creative, and cost-effective solutions.
Establish a sense of urgency to complete tasks in an efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner.
Develop benchmarks and measures the ongoing effectiveness of relevant processes and systems.
Maintain an exceptional level of customer focus and maintain an inspired culture that is time based and centered on integrity and customer focus.
