CDMA SW System Engineer

Department Description: CDMA Product Development

Responsibilities/Expectations: Responsible for a wide range of SW and System related activities and SW technical leadership at the product team level ranging from contributing to the establishment of the overall SW architecture to low level troubleshooting of product impacting issues. Position would involve working closely with several Product Team SW Leads. Additional responsibilities include the following:
1) Contributor to overall architecture as needed to realize product in areas of underlying infrastructure OS, Applications, and Framework.
2) Consulting with feature teams as needed to make features comply with product architecture guidelines and to evaluate impact on overall phone of any new features.
3) Analyze and resolve system-level software issues that cross multiple feature teams using available debug tools.
4) Work with Technical Marketing, CTS, account teams, development, Test, tools and manufacturing teams to insure complete requirements. Need to be intimate with carrier roadmaps and requirements existing and planned as well as understand differences between carriers.
5) Reviewing /providing hands on technical support and troubleshooting of product-impacting issues
6) Managing /reducing memory usage to manage cost concerns
7) Providing technical guidance and mentoring to teams that need it^^

Knowledge Skills: 1) CS, EE or Computer Engineering Degree or equivalent
2) 5+ years experience in embedded SW development. Good understanding of wireless phone architectures.
3) Ability to work closely with Technical Marketing, CTS, account teams, development, Test, tools and manufacturing.
4) Ability to analyze software issues using source-level debuggers, JTAG, logic analyzer/ETM and log files.
5) Experience with embedded real-time operating systems and cellular call processing
6) Experience with integrating 3rd party solutions into existing internal software
7) Experience in providing technical support during contractual negotiations.
8) Good presentation, verbal and written communication skills required.
9) Must be able to work under pressure and independently, and be able to meet project deadlines for delivering quality solutions on time.
10) Be prepared to travel to meet customers.^^
