Plan and perform mechanical, chemical and electrolytic processing for composite plating of abrasive turbine blade tips (CBN coating). Setup, operate and service CBN coating line and resolve PLC system shutdowns.
Work closely with and advise methods engineer to process unusual development, repair or rework items, and resolve problems.
7Under direction of supervisor work from process procedures, engineering drawings, manuals, engineering and MCL standards and other similar information to prepare parts, solutions and tooling for composite tip plating of production, development and repair turbine blades.
7Carry out special masking requirements necessary to protect non-plated surfaces.
7Set-up and operation of machine tools used to produce before tip blade length dimensions.
7Perform chemical and equipment servicing in the assigned area including solution additions and analysis, Ph adjustments, deioninzed water system maintenance, waste evaporative system maintenance; following specified procedures and written instructions to assure proper system operation.
7Maintain tank levels as necessary, help drain and refill the various processing tanks as directed, operate oven to bake-out parts as necessary.
7Maintain proper inventory of chemicals and documentation on process waste control
7Instruct others in proper processing techniques and methods and in the care and use of equipment to assure the meeting of material requirements.
7Assist others responsible for new part process tryout, repair and other specialized assignments within the scope and skill level of this job description.
7Check operation of equipment where a thorough knowledge of various processes is necessary to troubleshoot, repair and make adjustments.
7Operate fork lift or hand truck to move parts around department area.
7Refer difficulties to leader/supervisor.
