CAD Drafting Supervisor

Hamilton Fixture is one of the largest fixture manufacturers and we are looking for an CAD Drafting Supervisor for our Ontario, California facility. Our international partnerships enable us to provide our customers with a full range of services and products including designing, building one-of-a-kind prototypes, and customizing entire store interiors. Job Description: · Supervises entire Engineering Department and its staff by establishing priorities and daily objectives. · Responsible for the design and engineering of new product in order to facilitate existing customer demands and the development of new business. · Develops staff, setting goals and objectives for each individual. Evaluates individual performance in a timely manner. · Acts as in-house expert for changes in trends and ideas in merchandising, materials and construction methods. · Charged with performing “process engineering”, researching and investigating innovative manufacturing methods in order to reduce material and labor overhead. · Troubleshooting any manufacturing related problems relative to engineering data provided. Also responsible for making swift and accurate revisions to any incorrect engineering data. · Serves as information base to outside and inside sales force so those employees may provide swift and accurate information to customers. · Assist in researching new materials and construction methods and responsible for educating the manufacturing group in the uses and benefits of those new product methods. · Oversees the research of new materials and construction methods, working with Production Manager in the implementation of their use. · Assumes additional “customer service representative” duties, providing ideas and assistance directly to customer contacts. · Monitors submitted Engineering Requests, determining engineering lead times and authorization of overtime. Reports on engineering labor per customer. · Authorize the implementation of new construction materials as well as authorizing substitute materials. · Ensures on-time engineering for each launch. · Establishes VA/VE goals for the department.
REQUIREMENTS
· Positive attitude, responsible, accepts constructive criticism, functions well in a team-oriented environment, provides strong leadership, able to motivate others, result and bottom line oriented. · Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and provide problem-solving solutions. · Proven interpersonal, communication and diplomacy skills combined with a strong sense of urgency and organizational skills. · 7-10 years drafting experience within woodworking environment. · 3-5 years of exposure to industry milling and assembly functions. · Strong math aptitude along with proven leadership, organizational and design capabilities with AutoCad 3-d required.
