C++ / Unix Software Engineer

The primary purpose for this position is to work with System Engineering and/or customers (internal or external) to understand and critique requirements, ensuring that they are complete and accurate in order to maximize software development efficiency.
To develop software source code that conforms to coding standards and satisfies customer and derived requirements and specified designs. To understand and follow the processes pertinent to each phase of software development, and to identify opportunities to improve the processes.
Also, to develop test cases that provide necessary and sufficient coverage to prove software quality. To review test cases developed by others and offer suggestions to improve quality, and execute tests and resolve issues identified during testing. Contribute to the development of detailed plans and schedules for completing assigned work.
Execute according to the plan and identify the need to adjust the plan, if necessary, to adapt to changing situations and still meet customer requirements in a timely and cost effective fashion. Identify risks that may impact quality, schedule, and/or cost, and contribute to the development of risk mitigation plans and execute the plans.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical discipline
3-5 years of success on software development projects
Experience with C++ in a Unix environment; experience with UML or Qt is preferable (but not required).
