Broadcast Maintenance Engineer

Purpose:
CLTV is seeking to fill a position in the Engineering department. CLTV is a 24-hour cable news channel providing continuous coverage to the Chicagoland area. Assignments may require lifting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Work hours can be irregular and work assignments will include outdoor work at remote locations, as well as within the station and other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience maintaining (to the board and component level) a wide variety of broadcast equipment: video recorders, field cameras, routers, live trucks, video servers, etc. Strong communication skills, flexible work schedule, and component level troubleshooting are required. Applicant must possess and exhibit a thorough working knowledge of basic electronics, digital technology, satellite, and RF skills. Familiarity with Beta, DVC-Pro is a must. SBE Certification is a plus. Computer skills with Microsoft Windows, networking knowledge, and the use of CAD (AutoCAD) are highly desirable and also a plus in this position. Minimum of 3 years experience as a maintenance engineer in broadcast television or closely related field is also required. Candidate must have a college degree, post-secondary or military technical education to qualify for this position.
