Automation Specialist

Our client is one of the country's largest independent Control Systems Integrators providing a range of planning, consulting and implementation services to Fortune 100 and 500 industrial clients for automation and manufacturing execution systems. Their services include consulting from vision studies through OEM management, systems engineering and design, field installation and start-up, training and support. Their technical staff includes engineers, programmers, technicians and specialists experienced in a wide range of manufacturing applications for the Food, Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Printing, Metal, Mechanical, and Discrete/Batch Manufacturing Industries.

The Job

Our client is seeking a self-motivated and self-directed individual for a Sr. Controls Engineer position with five or more years experience. Individual must be willing to travel usually no more than 25% but may increase from time to time. Expertise in programming and troubleshooting PLCs, as well as electrical troubleshooting skills necessary.

REQUIREMENTS
Desired Education/Skills:

*College Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
*Ability to technically lead a group of programmers to a successful control solution
*Ability to develop solutions to plant automation problems
*Ability to write Functional and Detailed Design Specifications
*Ability to lead and manage a turnkey project using outside contractors
*Excellent Interpersonal skills
*Excellent oral and written skills in the English language
*Be able to read electrical drawings
*Expertise in programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLC’s
*General knowledge of SCADA systems
*General knowledge around Windows Operating systems
*Proficient in using a multimeter to troubleshoot problems

*Pharmaceutical Process Knowledge
*Food and Beverage Process Knowledge
*Experience in programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley
Controllogix PLCs, PLC 5 and SLC PLC’s, Siemens PLC’s,

*Experience in Siemens BMS Systems
*General experience in networking
