Improve productivity through efficiency gains, yield improvements, recoup performance gains, scanning / inventory movement accuracy, labor utilization, and other rate improvements. To insure projects are designed, managed and constructed in accordance with Company Engineering Standards, external Engineering Standards, Company Capital Management, Accounting and Purchasing Procedures, Company Engineering Procedures, and Company Safety Procedures. To provide technical supervision and support to all operating and maintenance departments to help in trouble shoot and diagnose issue related to PLC and WMS / AWS programs. In particular provide maintenance planning and technical back up to instrumentation / maintenance technicians in order to solve difficult control problems. To facilitate technology transfer from Corporate Engineering, R&D and the Manufacturing Engineering Team to the Manufacturing / Distribution Operations and Maintenance Teams insuring proper startup and training plans. Train electricians and instrumentation technicians on new technology to allow proper maintenance and trouble shooting. To enhance maintenance processes through equipment and systems analysis in order to identify opportunities for equipment or process modification, equipment replacement, or application of new technology. To actively develop and implement cost savings initiatives involving waste minimization, productivity improvements and other process optimization opportunities through an active partnership with Distribution’s maintenance and operation teams. To serve as a Technical Consultant to Distribution by analyzing system and equipment failures in order to troubleshoot problems and to facilitate maintenance planning activities, procedural changes or capital improvements. To insure regular and thorough communication and collaboration with the Distribution Directors, Managers, Supervisors and hourly teams in regard to projects and other activities. To develop, implement and monitor automation and control strategies and system architecture for the facility. Description of Position:
To provide electrical, controls and automation support and supervision to plant process, distribution and utility operations.
