Automation Engineer

The Automation Department of this company supports the metals industry with a broad scope of services including process control and automation systems.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work with a team in support of projects involving industrial heating furnaces and electric steelmaking and refining. Key components of the work will be to apply advanced process control methods (Process modeling, Model Predictive Control, Neural Networks, etc.) to industrial systems and data analysis of control system performance. This position will be involved in the full project life-cycle: sales support, design, implementation, and commissioning. Some travel away from Pittsburgh is part of this job.

Qualifications:
Ideal candidate should have aBachelors Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or related fields) with 3 to 10 years (or more) of relevant experienceWork experience involving on-line process monitoring, higher level process control, networking and database systems is desirableFamiliarity with several of the platforms and tools listed below.Computer Platforms: Personal Computer, Windows XP Pro or Server 2003 Programming Languages: C, C++, Visual Basic, C#, FortranMicrosoft Applications: Excel, Word, Outlook, othersSteel Industry experience is very helpful. Proficiency with PLC based control systems is a plus but not required.
