Audio/Video System Designer
Purpose: Audio / Video System Designer Location: Los Angeles Compensation: Salary Based Upon Experience
The Company
A long standing company that does design and production of cutting-edge audio, video, lighting and control systems for clients in the entertainment, sports, leisure, recreation, hospitality, gaming, retailing, manufacturing and education industries is seeking an Audio/Video Systems Designer.
Job Description
-System designs for audio, video, lighting and control systems.
-Create engineered drawing sets in AutoCAD for installation projects.
-Submittal of shop drawings and coordination with architects, contractors, draftsmen, and consultants.
-Creating equipment lists; floor plans; rack and console elevations; conceptual and detailed audio, video, and control diagrams; patch panel and custom I/O panel layouts.
-Manages system testing in shop and on job site.
-Manage projects interfacing directly with installation, fabrication technicians and subcontractors in house as well as clients.
-A good working knowledge of audio, video and control systems and the ability to commission and troubleshoot these systems.
-Create job specifications.
-Test, adjust and commission completed AV systems.
-Assist technicians in the field with technical design support.
Qualifications
-Working knowledge of AMX, Crestron and Extron control systems.
-Working knowledge of Polycom & Tandberg equipment, DLP projectors, plasma, LCD displays.
-Working knowledge of Media Matrix and Nion systems.
-A general knowledge of Information Technology (IT) services, hardware, infrastructure and system architecture (IP; LAN; WAN; Routers; Switchers; Hubs; Wireless Access Points; etc.).
-Experience in designing and programming networked and DSP based audio/video/control/lighting systems
-Maintain a good working knowledge of current AV products and practices, as well as new products.
-CTS-D certification preferred.
-Technical knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word, Access, and Excel
-Candidates must possess excellent communication and PC skills, manage multiple tasks, and are driven by quality work and customer service.
-At least 5 years experience working for a similar company in AV technical design and/or engineering applications.
-Some local and international travel required.
-This position reports to Vice President, Design & Engineering
