Associate Staff Development Support Engineer

We are currently seeking an Associate Staff Development Support Engineer at our Lawrenceville, GA location.

ASSOCIATE STAFF DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT ENGINEER

The Associate Staff Development Support Engineer will handle cases that are escalated to the Customer Focused Engineering Team (CFET). This includes documenting the sub case notes in Clarify, communicating and following up with the customer and coordinating with engineering and customer service. The candidate will participate in the support phone rotation as well as work to develop an area of expertise and cross train with other CFET engineers. This engineer will test new releases and review associated documentation as required, and develop new tools/training to ease product support.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Experience:
5+ years of related experience with BS
General knowledge about DNCS, DHCTs, HE Components, Applications and Networking
Capable of writing and understanding UNIX scripts
Basic to mid-level understanding of computer networking technology
3 years of experience working in a support environment
Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong people skills to communicate with customers and within Scientific Atlanta
Team player and self driven to resolve issues within the organization
BS degree

Preferred Skills:
5+ years of experience working on Cable system networks with above average skills in Unix system support, Unix scripts and network operation/troubleshooting
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology

Travel:
20% or less - possibly on short notice
