Associate Product Analyst II #071106-2

POSITION SUMMARY: Functions as a member of the Product Analysis team. Works as a liaison between the development team and the customers (users) in researching and producing technical software design and functional implementation specifications to be used by programmers and testers to develop quality software products for dental or medical healthcare providers. Responsible for following through on projects as they develop. Projects include upgrading existing software, integrating additional software, and developing new software. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Provide research/analysis on projects to translate business/market requirements into functional requirements
•Work with Development to develop/maintain functional specifications (use cases, screen designs, logic/workflow)
•Participate in functional specification reviews; design walkthroughs; and QA incident reviews and steering committee meetings
•Follow through on Product Analysis processes for projects (Marketing Requests, Software Change Notices)
•End-user advocate in development process, interact with end-users for functionality and features for projects
•Communicate with other departments; participate in special projects; perform other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
•Associate's Degree in Information Technology, related area of Computer Science, or equivalent
•Two years experience in requirements assessment and software development
•Experience interacting with developers/managers/customers (written and oral presentations)
•Experience gathering information and communicating with technical/non-technical individuals
•Excellent computer skills with proficiency in PC applications (e.g. Windows, Word, Excel, etc.)
•Fast learner and self-motivated to explore and learn how to use software with little outside training
•Strong research, analytical, problem solving, technical writing, and communication skills
•Effective organizational and information management skills and tracking abilities
•Strong aptitude to transform what a customer or end-user requires into a software solution
•Ability to organize processes logically
•Graphical User Interface skills, including experience with usability issues
•Must be current on new technology within the software industry
•Must be comfortable working independently, as well as within a team environment
•Ability to handle multiple project deliverables and balance multiple priorities and deadlines (multi-task and work well under high pressure)
•Type at least 50 WPM

OTHER DESIRED SKILLS:
•Two years experience as an employee at Dentrix Dental Systems, Inc., or similar employment preferred
•Experience writing requirements and functional specification documents
•Experience in health care industry, including an understanding of health insurance processing and practice management
•Dental or medical industry knowledge/experience in a practice or with practice management software
•Technical knowledge of application modeling, including scenarios, use cases, screen designs and logic/workflow
•Knowledge of features/functionality of PMTS software products and PMTS Product Analysis processes
•Programming experience
•Understanding of relational databases and SQL
•Familiarity with software quality assurance or testing
•Customer relations experience
•Experience with high tech hardware, integration and imaging knowledge
•Experience with web applications and design, and with electronic transmissions
•Experience with enterprise applications and with business management and general accounting principles
