AREA MANAGER Danaher Motion is seeking an Area Manager for its Saginaw, MI facility. This position requires a strong leader who is well versed in change management, possesses a strong work ethic, and is a doer . The ability to simultaneously handle multiple, complex projects as well as understand complicated manufacturing processes in a lean environment is a must.

Key responsibilities include providing accurate shipment forecasts and achieving said forecast and quality associated with the manufacture of the products, operating within approved budget boundaries, maintaining minimal inventory levels, leading improvements in cost reductions, reduced cycle times and reduced lead times, supervising and directing production associates in a union environment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment that is in compliance with all MIOSHA, OSHA and EPA related environmental regulations and guidelines. This position will communicate and work with all departments and levels of management. The Area Manager will exercise continuous leadership to focus efforts on priorities. He/she will be technically proficient to troubleshoot manufacturing upsets and have a strong commitment to safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost.

Successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (engineering major preferred), 5+ years in manufacturing management, extensive experience utilizing lean manufacturing tools, effective planning and leadership skills, demonstrated ability to drive and sustain significant operational improvement, and outstanding problem-solving and written and verbal communication skills. Experience within the motion control industry is preferred.
