Applied Aerodynamics Engineer (CFD)

POSITION SUMMARY

Aerodynamic definition and analysis of external shapes, development of aerodynamic data for loads analyses, and providing aerodynamic input to aircraft systems designs

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Applies diversified knowledge and experience of engineering principles and practices in specific technical areas.
2. Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods and represents the organization to customers and suppliers to resolve important issues and to plan and coordinate work.
3. Will use advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories and practices of a specific field.
4. Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct a large and important engineering project or a number of small projects with many complex features. Provide technical guidance to other engineers.
5. Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others. Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation test, products, or equipment when necessary data are insufficient or confirmation by testing is advisable.
6. Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product.
7. Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements


REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering required, Masters preferred
2. 4-7 years experience in specific discipline
3. Strong in aero analysis using empirical methods and estimation techniques,
wind tunnel and / or flight test data analysis.
4. Experience with CFD tools highly desirable
5. Experience with manufacturing requirements and methods highly desirable.
6. Experience with icing methods, tools and techniques desired.
7. Fluency in FORTRAN, UNIX and Microsoft Office required.
8. Must be open to working all phases of Applied Aerodynamics responsibilities and
assignments.
9. Experience in aircraft design and manufacturing preferred
10. Strong verbal and written communication skills required
