Applications Engineer - C/C++

This is a direct staff position with full benefits at our Costa Mesa client.Troubleshoot problems, provide configuration & applications support and/or recommended fixes in various software/firmware products. Work effectively with development engineers to gain requisite knowledge of Fibre channel products. Provide feedback to developers, marketing & engineering management for product improvement. Provide product training for customers. Moderate travel required to visit supported customers.BSCS/EE or equivalent training & experience and a minimum of 7+ years of customer support engineering development experience. Must be familiar with SAN environments using Windows, UNIX, or Linux networks. Must have good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Must be well orgaiized, thorough and able to provide timely follow up to our customers. Must have previous experience in a customer support role. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Ideally, specific experience in Fibre Channel, SCSI, or other storage technologies and protocols. Software driver development and ability to take and decipher Fibre Channel traces with talent for finding the issues and for developing system level solutions highly desirable.eoe/m/f/v/d
REQUIREMENTS
an Applications Engineer who will do OEM support of our HBA products (about 7yrs experience wanted)
- must have either SAN, FC, or SCSI background
- strong C or C++ background- any O/S or server environment will work (Linux, UNIX, Windows)
- Device driver, firmware, PCI, PCIe, SLI background preferred
- Cadence tools a big plus
- chip level support experience a big plus
- an Apps Engineer from a semi-conductor company might be in the ballpark
