Application Development Specialist (5705)

Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for an Application Development Specialist to join our team in Herndon, VA .Job Responsibilities:
Applications Development - SpecialistPlans, conducts, and coordinates programming application activities. Writes business applications computer software that contain logical and mathematical solutions to business problems or questions. Develops statements of problems and requirements, designs systems and programs, writes programs in computer language for solution by means of data processing equipment. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software subject matter to be programmed in business applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.These individuals will be responsible for capturing detailed user requirements and creating technical Analysis and Design documents. In addition, these individuals will have the ability to code a solution based on the Analysis and Design Documents using the most appropriate programming language for the applications (Sybase T-SQL, Unix Shell Scripts). These individuals will also be responsible for unit testing their code and providing UAT support over the life of the PeopleSoft 8.9 reimplementation project.Required Skills:

3-4 years of Sybase and Unix.

Strong knowledge of Stored Procedures, Triggers, T-SQL, bcp.

Strong knowledge of scripting languages (UNIX Shell scripting, Windows batch files, etc.)

General knowledge of Oracle databases.

Excellent functional and technical analytical skills. Knowledge of Repair Order,
Purchasing, and Invoicing processes will be a plus.

Candidate must have excellent analytical and communication skills.Minimum Educational Requirements:
