Application Analyst II

Phoenix Health Plan is hiring an Application Analyst II. This position will involve working with client staff on troubleshooting and resolving system related issues to increase productivity. The job includes working with both internal IT staff and vendors to identify best practices; develop specifications, project plans, test plans; implement updates and train staff. This job will also be responsible for developing HIPAA X12 transaction sets and monitoring their effectiveness.To support Phoenix Health Plan data needs for report development, design, and data analysis that may result in thoughtful preparation, testing and implementation of system changes. Maintain and design complex databases. Assist with system design and implementation for the health plan’s functional areas. Manage small and medium level implementation projectsAssist in designing studies, surveys, and research projects including methodology design and data analysis.Assist users in helping to determine their data needs.Maintain strong working knowledge of software support systems utilized within the organization.Act as a liaison with Information Technology and other contracted IT and technology vendors.Assist with troubleshooting activities related to system software and hardware problems related to user education, training, and maintenance.Develop project timelines for assigned projects and manage to those timelines.Perform system updates in accordance with regulatory and health plan contract changes.Construct and maintain databases and spreadsheets for multiple projects to meet various user needs.Provide education to users to allow them to run their own reports.Develop, produce, and analyze ad hoc reports.Evaluate new technology and avenues for improving health plan efficiencies.We have a great benefit package including tuition reimbursement for you and your family in which you can view on www.abrazovu.comWe are located on the corner of 16th Street and Northern.Email resumes to [Click here for email], Wendy Coyle.
REQUIREMENTS
The qualified candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in the health care systems field. This includes a background in the configuration of managed care systems, preferably with a systems vendor. Requires knowledge of SQL and MS Access. Particular knowledge of health care claims processing is a plus as well as experience with Crystal Reports is desired.Minimum education: High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Associate degree with emphasis on computer software or 3 years experience in healthcare IT or health plan systems development and support.Preferred education: BS in Healthcare or Business Administration or equivalentMinimum experience: Strong aptitude for learning and using software programs. High level of expertise in multiple hardware platforms and computer software; proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Access), Crystal Reports, and SQL desired. Strong attention to detail with excellent oral and written communication skills.Preferred experience: Minimum 5 years experience in healthcare systems or plan administration with emphasis on product development or system support including development of workflow, test plans and quality assurance. Experience includes development of databases using MSAccess or SQL and development of reports using MSExcel, MSAccess and Crystal Reports or DI-Diver. Experience also includes management of small to medium size software development and/or implementation projects.
