Analyst Engineer

Job Description: Structural Analyst Engineer to perform finite element based, structural & fatigue analysis of engine components (Cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, brackets) in a combined Research & Development environment. Work as part of 12 person team with significant interaction with design engineers in order to obtain design and other model input information, and to communicate results and make design recommendations. Responsibilities include manipulating Pro/Engineer 3D models, developing the mesh, gather loading input data from other engineers, apply boundary conditions and loads, running the analysis to determine stress and deflection, post processing, interpreting results, communicate the results with a .ppt presentation and make appropriate recommendations. Minimum of 40 hour work week. 20-40 hrs OT is possible per month depending upon the project deadlines. Little to no travel required. Minimum Job Qualifications - Required: At least 1 year of actual work experience (not school) using ABAQUS structural analysis tool. At least classroom experience manipulating Pro/Engineer models. Strong analytical skills, demonstrated strong learning skills, good communication skills. Highly motivated and self-starter. Familiarity with engine design and components. Highly Desired Qualifications - Not required: Dynamic analysis experience would be extremely beneficial and would allow for additional responsibilities. 1+ year of experience in engine component design using Pro/Engineer (part and assembly mode). Education requirements: MSME and/or Strong educational background in applied mechanics, heat transfer, and dynamics
