Analog Electronics Engineer

At our Ann Arbor Headquarters, the research, development, manufacturing and marketing and sales for ultrafast lasers is carried out. In autumn 2000, we established our Applications Research Laboratory (ARL) in Fremont, California. There we collaborate on applications with the semiconductor, display, and disk drive, as well as biomedical, medical device, and other high-tech manufacturing industries. A similar facility was opened in Ann Arbor in the fall of 2005.
Job Functions: Responsible for board level and system level analog hardware design projects.
Maintain, revise and update existing hardware configurations, including troubleshooting, repair, and improving system functionality.
Perform design, simulation, and test of analog circuit functions.
Perform schematic entry and PCB layout.
Interface with outside vendors to get designs fabricated.
System and sub-system integration.
Responsible for fully documenting designs and test results for transition to Manufacturing.
Design signal conditioning for measurement, and closed loop of light detection and temperature control. REQUIREMENTS
All candidates MUST have the following experiences to qualify for consideration: BSEE with 5 years experience.
Experience with analog and mixed signal designs running from DC to 1GHz using DACs, ADCs, op-amps and passive components.
Experience with crystal oscillator and PLL design, with passive and active filter designs, with low noise and high accuracy designs, especially for diode drivers and with power supply design (switching and linear)
Experience with analog circuits for closed loop optical power and control using photodiode detectors, linear and logarithmic amplifiers.
Hardware experience interfacing analog circuits with embedded microcontrollers and digital peripherals.
Demonstrated prototyping and debugging skills.
Hands on experience with standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, etc.
Good written/verbal communication skills.
Experience with circuit simulations using SPICE or similar tools.
