Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Leader

Summary:
A global leader in heating & air conditioning systems for both residential & commercial customers has retained us to search & select an experienced Lean Manufacturing Engineering Leader for one of its rapidly expanding divisions.

Job Description:
•Key leadership role over AME organization with responsibility to develop & deliver new process technologies, deliver new products/processes utilizing NPI/MPC process rigor, & to develop & drive local manufacturing strategy consistent with RS overall strategy.
•Help create & drive integration of new lean tools into the DFT/Six Sigma operating system & toolbox locally consistent with RS direction.
REQUIREMENTS
Job Responsibilities:
•Six Sigma (integrating new lean tools into manufacturing): Lead/develop the process & tools to deploy/integrate lean manufacturing tools into the DFT/Six Sigma operating culture.
•New Product Introductions: Lead manufacturing core team efforts to plan & execute on all New Product Introduction programs at the site level. Establish standards for Design for Manufacturing & lead the definition of internal Voice of the Customer manufacturing process requirements for major programs.
•New Technology Development: Work closely with functional & operations leaders to create the project scope, objectives & risk assessment to apply new, “game changing” technologies to the manufacturing shop floor using Manufacturing Process Certification rigor. Examples include PLC/IT integration, Kanban management, factory automation, RFID technology, integrated material handling/facilities/space planning, etc.
•Process Certifications: Lead manufacturing engineering efforts to plan & execute process certifications utilizing MPC process on all critical new & legacy manufacturing processes to assure that they are capable & in-control while delivering intended results.
•Manufacturing Strategy: Lead local team that defines & executes manufacturing strategy in support of RS group direction/strategies. Examples include long range capacity planning, three tier sourcing strategy, local core technology/focused plant strategy, competitive analysis, & LRP inputs.
•Project/Program Management: Reviews status reports prepared by project team leaders & combine information into a program status report to present &/or submit to management & others.
•Technical Skills Development: Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice & resources to resolve problems. Assess & develop appropriate manufacturing technical bench strength for plant site in support of HRP planning & business objectives.
•Coaching: Provides coaching & mentoring to project team leaders.

Education/Experience:
•BS degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline required. MBA, additional project management training, or PMP certification a plus.
•Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience leading 1 or more major process development projects from concept to production using six sigma methodologies.
•Manufacturing operations experience of at least ten years required.
