ASIC Logic Design Engineer

DESCRIPTION: The responsibilities of the position are to design high speed logic, logically partition the design, run synthesis process, simulations, and close timing. The position also requires communication, documentation, and team work skills. This person will work as a Logic Design Engineer on a team developing a computer chipset, Test Chip, Hub and Router ASICs, that will be used in our future generations of computer systems. This chipset, once it is available, will be used in all future hardware products sold. This would include the follow on products to our entire current compute server and desktop computer products. Hub and Router should be introduced into our products in 3Q/4Q calendar year 2007 or later. This chipset will be created by combining the designs of several small teams of design engineers. This candidate will work with a small team to design a portion of the chip(s). This design engineer may need to understand the functionality of the entire chipset. This engineer as well as the rest of the design team will have access the entire project’s design documentation. This person will also work with members of a team that will be responsible to take this design source code and create the data base files that will eventually become the physical implementation of the ASIC(s). This design engineer will provide data to a physical design team that will allow the physical design team to place the objects for his portion of the design as they will be represented in the Silicon for the chip. This design engineer will also work with members of a physical design team to make sure that the timing within his team’s portion of the design is within limits that will allow the chip to function.
REQUIREMENTS
