AS400 Applications Developer

SXC Health Solutions, a leading pharmacy information processing solutions business, is looking for an AS400 Applications Developer to join their growing company in Lombard, Illinois. SXC's comprehensive suite of service offerings and software-based solutions support a wide array of organizations across the full spectrum of the pharmacy supply and delivery system.

Designs and implements application systems. Carries out the technical reviews of systems as designated by management and may act as a trouble-shooter for a variety of systems problems.

Responsible for analyzing system requirements, preparing specifications, evaluating hardware and third-party software, and preparing time and cost estimates for systems development work. Functions as a lead analyst and lead programmer and participates in programming activities in certain stages of the project.

Enhance and maintain SXC's AS/400 based RxClaim/RxSERVER application system.
Work with business system analysts and members of AS/400 development team to develop expert and creative design solutions that meet or exceed requirements.
Provide product and technical support to SXC's clients and other SXC's associates.

Position requires that the individual be available for client emergencies and requests. Travel and short-term out of town assignments may be necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience: 10 years of Information Systems experience.

Five or more years of application programming experience on the IBM AS 400.

Sound knowledge of COBOL/400 and CL/400.

Two or more years experience with Synon/2E a PLUS!

Experience with Query/400, QM Query and/or SQL.

Five or more years of application design experience.

Thorough understanding of on-line pharmacy claims processing and reporting systems a big plus.

Knowledge of pharmacy delivery systems, health care, insurance, and/or financial systems a plus.

HEALTHCARE / CLAIM PROCESSING IS A BIG PLUS!

Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combinanion of education and experience
